Jim’s Café community advice centre
Jim’s Café is our community advice centre and coffee morning, which takes place at St James’s on Wednesday mornings between 9am and 12pm. It is free and offers a range of advice services, as well as refreshments and a place to chat.
Citizens' Advice Barnet here every fortnight: Citizens' Advice Barnet work with us and are on site every fortnight (see below dates). They are experts in benefits, debt, consumer, family and immigration queries.
What the Jim's Cafe team can offer: Our volunteers can assist in form-filling, online services, phone calls and other advice, and can signpost to various local services.
Drop-in service: Please note that Jim's and Citizens' Advice are drop-in services, and our volunteers see visitors on a first-come, first-served basis. For this reason, early arrival is advised. We always have high demand, and once we reach full capacity we cannot take any additional walk-ins.
Other organisations: We have good working relationships with many organisations in the area, including our local Police Safer Neighbourhood team, Barnet Council prevention and wellbeing, Barnet fostering service, Age UK, CAP, Chipping Barnet Foodbank, Green Doctors and Sebby’s Corner. We are a registered Warm Spaces venue.
Sometimes another organisation will visit to give advice on a particular topic. See below for a list of key dates this autumn.
